Staring June 30, the food service contract with Sodexo will expire, and Student Housing and Dining Services will manage all food services. UC Davis will be among the eight other UC campuses who run their own food services, resulting in cost savings through the University of California’s procurement system. This change will affect residential and retailing dining, plus catering.


This switch is an opportunity to reenergize our menu with diverse options that reflect the student population at UC Davis.

This transition gives us the opportunity to:

  • Provide more regional and international styles of food
  • Enhance halal options throughout the dining commons
  • Source and serve Aggie-Grown products whenever possible
  • Develop menus with ongoing input from students, staff and parents
  • Create career advancement paths for Student Housing and Dining Services staff
