Changing Meal Plans

Residents may change their meal plans at scheduled "meal plan change periods" during the academic year. See Changing Meal Plans for more information and instructions.

Bringing Guests

Residents with block plans may use their meal plans to bring, or "swipe in", guests up to ten times per quarter. Swipes are deducted from the meal plan.

Residents with unlimited meal plans may bring guests. Aggie Cash may be used to pay for guest access, and guests can pay with cash or credit cards at entry.

Residents MUST remain with their guests when eating in the dining commons.

Leftover Meals

Block Plans

At the end of each quarter, leftover meals on Block Plans roll over to the next quarter. Example: if a student has a 50 Meal Block Plan and 20 meals are left over from fall quarter, winter quarter's balance will be 70 meals (20 left over + 50 for winter quarter).

At the end of spring quarter, the meal balance remains available going into the next academic year, and will remain available for the student to use as long as they remain enrolled at UC Davis.

Unlimited Access Plans

Unlimited meal plans do not roll over from quarter to quarter, and there is no remaining balance at the end of the academic year.

Purchasing Additional Meals

Increasing Meal Plans

At various times during the academic year, residents may "upgrade" their meal plan to add more meals per quarter. See the Changing Meal Plans webpage to learn how to upgrade (or downgrade) meal plans.

Meal Blocks

Students who deplete their meal plan balances before the quarter ends and would like to purchase additional meals may purchase "Meal Blocks". Meal Blocks are 10-meal meal plans that may be added to any existing meal plan. Meal Blocks are $85.70 each. Students may purchase multiple Meal Blocks. See the Changing Meal Plans webpage to learn how to upgrade (or downgrade) meal plans or purchase Meal Blocks. Visit or call Student Housing for more information.
