Overview of Dining Plans for Campus Residents
UC Davis Dining Services provides several types of dining plans on campus, including dining plans that are part of residential campus living, voluntary meal plans for students who live off campus, and faculty and staff meal plans. This site covers dining plans for campus residents - those living in the residence halls and Student Housing Apartments (SHA). UC Davis Dining Services provides meal plans paired with a declining balance (debit) program called Aggie Cash for residence hall and SHA residents. Dining Plans are explained on the Dining Plans webpage and Aggie Cash is explained on the Aggie Cash webpage.
Dining commons (DCs) are large, state-of-the-art facilities with dining rooms and food preparation platforms that serve a variety of dishes in an à-la-carte style system. Each residence hall area has one DC. More information is available on the Dining Commons webpage.

There is a convenience store in each residence hall area. Convenience stores offer an assortment of snacks, cold drinks, ice cream and candy. Go to the Convenience Stores webpage for more information.
DC Dining Plan Eligibility
Residence Hall Students
Residence hall students, as a condition of their Residence Hall Contract, are automatically enrolled in a DC dining plan. Residence hall students may select which plan they want, and at certain times during the year, may change from one plan to another.
SHA students receive, as part of their SHA Contract, the option to add a DC dining plan. SHA students may select which plan they want, or no plan at all, and at certain times during the year, may change from one plan to another.
Non-Residence Hall Students, Staff and Faculty
Dining plans may be purchased by UC Davis students who do not live in the residence halls or SHA, as well as UC Davis staff and faculty. Visit the UC Davis Dining Services website for specific information about available dining plans and rates, or to purchase a dining plan.
