Apartment Living and Guide Resources

In addition to the Student Housing rules and guidelines outlined in this Guide to Student Housing Apartments, all residents must also abide by the Apartment Rules and Regulations that their apartment complex publishes. The Rules and Regulations for all apartment complexes in the Student Housing Apartments program are listed below.

Apartment Access

SHA residents have access to their apartment complex amenities and will be given a key at check-in for access. You are responsible for this key.

1. Lock-Outs

You should carry your keys with you at all times. Please review your apartment rules and regulations or contact your apartment complex manager for further information about the lock out policy at your complex.

Business Hours:
If the property office is open, most complexes will offer lock-out service free of charge.

After Hours:
If you are locked out of your apartment after business hours, you are responsible for gaining access to your apartment or bedroom. Some apartment complexes will offer lock-out service if it is an emergency. There is a $75 fee for after hour lock-outs.

Being locked out of your apartment or bedroom within your apartment does not constitute an after hour emergency. If you find yourself locked out of your apartment, please try contacting your roommates to gain access. Any lock-out charges assessed will be billed to your student account.

2. Lock Changes

If you lose your key, please notify your property manager. For your personal safety and the safety of your belongings, a lock change will be issued. There is a $50 lock change fee that will be billed to your account. NOTE: if you lose your access card to Primero Grove there is a $60 charge for this card to replace it.
