UC Davis West Village Apartments
UC Davis West Village introduces a new concept in university living, combining sophisticated comforts with environmentally thoughtful design allowing residents to reduce their reliance on cars, limit energy consumption and enjoy the benefits of the local climate in a healthy environment. West Village is located on the UC Davis campus just west of Highway 113 and is comprised of two apartment communities, a centrally located park (The Square), a 15,000 sf recreation building, retail space, single family homes and a community college. Each complex operates in partnership with UC Davis, while maintaining their own staff, programs, and buildings.
The Ramble Apartments and Viridian are designed to be Zero Net Energy communities, an initiative that combines energy load reduction with onsite renewable energy production. Energy efficient building design and technologies are incorporated throughout to decrease energy consumption dramatically while solar photovoltaic panels will produce renewable energy onsite.
A LEED-registered project, this community features solar panel covered parking spots, floor plans that capture the breeze, and landscaping that maximizes on-site water retention.
The Ramble Apartments and Viridian
The Ramble Apartments
The Ramble Apartments are 3-story buildings, each surrounding shared courtyards connected by a rambling bike path that leads to core campus. Using pioneering green building technologies, these apartments are designed to use 50% less energy than traditionally-constructed buildings. Each unit includes a washer and dryer and a full kitchen with dishwasher. Utilities including Internet are included in rent (see leasing center for details).

Viridian
These stylish one and two bedroom apartment homes are located in the heart of UC Davis West Village on The Square. The loft-style floor plans feature private balconies and sophisticated finishes, bringing uptown amenities to a college-town locale. The unique roofline features solar panels geared to generate sustainable energy for the community.

The Center
The Ramble and Viridian residents will have access to The Center, a 15,000 square foot recreation building located in the heart of UC Davis West Village. The interiors feature a state-of-the-art fitness facility with yoga studio, gaming and technology rooms, study lounges and a multi-purpose room complete with theater. Outdoor amenities include a sand volleyball court, recreation and lap pools, spa and outdoor kitchen with barbecue grills.
Eligibility
Continuing undergraduate, graduate and professional students may apply for housing at The Ramble Apartments and Viridian. We encourage incoming first-year students to consider Student Housing options, including the residence halls.
