Moving Into A Single Student Apartment
2009-2010 Academic Year
Check-In Day
Check-in day is Thursday, September 17. A check-in station will be located at each Single Student Apartment location from 9:00am until 5:00pm on that day (see the maps below).
Students who plan to move in after September 17 should still plan on checking in on the 17th to sign their contract and collect their keys. Those who are unable to check-in on September 17 should contact Student Housing to make alternate arrangements. Do not contact the apartment directly: Student Housing is facilitating the move-in process and has possession of the contract materials and keys.
If the check-in day conflicts with the observance of religious holidays, please do not hesitate to contact the Student Housing office at 530-752-2033. Note: the UC policy regarding religious holidays that conflict with university housing check-in days is available on the publications webpage.
The Student Housing office will be open from 8am-5pm on the check-in day to help take care of any last minute problems you may experience, so please stop by our office if you need assistance with any concerns or issues.
Preparing To Move
In addition to reading the move-in assignment information, please read the following material in order to prepare for a successful move.
Log In To MyUCDavis
Beginning in late August, you may log in to MyUCDavis and access the My Student Housing channel to view your current Student Housing information.
Checklist
Use the following as a checklist to begin preparing to move in to Single Student Apartments a few weeks before check-in day:
- Prepare and register your computer
- Cancel your contract if you no longer plan to live in a single student apartment
- Review the Guide to Single Student Apartments
- Decide what to bring (and coordinate with your roommate(s))
- Contact your roommate to discuss:
- Arrival times for check-in day
- What each roommate will bring (television, printer, etc.)
- Establishing phone service, if necessary
- Review Bicycle Policies on the UC Davis TAPS Bicycle Program webpage
- Pay your housing bill (fall quarter's payment is due October 1)

After You Arrive
- Complete an online Room Condition form by October 5, 2009
- Review the Guide to Single Student Apartments
- Review the Student Housing calendar
- Review the Diversity Calendar (new - now online)
- License your bicycle at Transportation and Parking Services (TAPS) - it's the law and a university requirement
- Make changes to your meal plan, if necessary, at MyUCDavis (the deadline to downgrade meal plans for fall quarter is October 1; refer to the Calendar for other meal change deadlines)
