Aggieware
Aggieware, the reusable tableware program, will be used throughout the year for all student programs in the residence halls to reach University of California Office of the President's goal of 75% waste diversion by 2012 and zero waste by 2020.
The Aggieware program eliminates the purchase, use, and disposal of all paper products for programs, which makes additional funds available for the purchase of sustainable food options for these programs.
How the Program Works
Student Housing has purchased materials to provide one set of Aggieware for each Resident Advisor for use during programs.
The contents of one set of Aggieware are:
- The "Red (P) Kit" includes 20 plates and 20 forks
- The "Blue (C) Kit" includes 25 cups
- The "Blue (B) Kit" includes 20 bowls and 20 spoons
- The "Red (C) Kit" includes 50 recycled content napkins
Once a kit has been used and/or the seal on the container has been broken, the dirty dishes are returned to the Dining Commons for cleaning. Compost kits containing napkins and food waste will also be returned to the Dining Commons.
In exchange for dirty kits, the Dining Commons will issue a clean and sealed kit of the same type.
