Mail, Mailboxes, and Care Packages

There is one mailbox for each room. Madrone Hall's mailboxes are located on the first floor of the Tercero Services Center, by the Area Service Desk.

Packages that do not fit in a mailbox are held at the Area Service Desk. The ASD staff will notify residents via email when they receive a package that needs to be picked up.

Arbutus menziesii, Pacific madrone

The Arbutus menziesii is an evergreen tree with rich orange-red bark that, when mature, naturally peels away in sheets to reveal a silvery green and smooth satin sheen. In spring, these trees flaunt sprays of urn-shaped flowers, while in autumn, showy red berries appear that are popular snacks for native birds and mammals. These trees are drought tolerant, relatively fast growing, and, in the wild, depend on intermittent fire to ensure that their larger conifer neighbors don't overshadow and crowd them out. You can find a number of madrones in the UC Davis Arboretum as you walk east through the redwood grove — there are a few just on the other side of the ladybug mural tunnel.
