moobilenetx replaces ResNetX
Communications Resources retired the SSID ResNetX, which only appeared in the residence halls, in December 2014, replacing it with the campuswide moobilenetx. All other SSIDs remain the same. Communications Resources instituted this change as a first step at consolidating wireless services throughout the campus. The hope is this small adjustment will improve services and make the wireless networking experience more seamless on campus.

Microsoft ended support for its 13+ year old Windows XP operating system on April 8, 2014. As an unsupported OS, Windows XP represents a significant security risk.
To mitigate this risk, UC Davis does not allow computers running Windows XP to access campus networks, including Resnet and moobilenetx, or to log in to campus systems.
Computer users running Windows XP should upgrade their operating system as soon as possible to protect themselves and to access UC Davis networks and applications.
