Patching Your Windows or Macintosh Computer

Every Windows and Mac computer comes installed with some version of their respective Operating Systems (OS, for short), like Windows 8 or 10, for example, or MacOS 10.12, Sierra. As flaws are discovered in these Operating Systems, Microsoft and Apple will release patches that fix these flaws and keep your computer safe from hackers and viruses.

The easiest way to keep your OS up-to-date is to enable automatic updating on your computer.
