Custodial and Maintenance Service

Student Housing employs a professional maintenance and custodial staff to service the residence halls.

Custodial Staff

Custodians in each residence hall area are responsible for helping keep common areas (community bathrooms, hallways, and lounges) clean. Custodians report maintenance and equipment problems to help keep the community in good repair. Custodial staff maintain an ambitious workload and thus do not clean up unusual or excessive messes; instead they report such incidents. Cleaning costs associated to unusual or excessive messes are charged to the community, reducing available community funds.

Maintenance Staff

Maintenance staff are highly skilled individuals who perform all basic maintenance in the residence halls. Routine requests will be handled within two working days. Promptly report damage using the Service Request form (access the form through either the Student Housing website or Student Housing channel on MyUCDavis).
