Calling All Aggies! Become a Moove-In Crew member! With Moove-In approaching we are looking for friendly, helpful, and outgoing volunteers to help welcome our new/returning residents to campus and help them moove into their room/apartment!
Sign Up Deadline (rolling basis): EOB Tuesday, 8/26
Volunteers may include: students, faculty, staff, retirees, alumni and com munity members
*Excluding: SHDS staff, ICA and CODVC (separate sign-up process)
Volunteer Benefits:
- The opportunity to welcome and help new Aggies moove in
- Volunteer experience to put on your resume
- Free T-shirt (to be worn during volunteer shift(s))
- Discounted Meal Rate at the Dining Commons the day you volunteer (pay at the door)
Moove-In Schedule (only dates including volunteers):
- The Green @ West Village (first-year transfer, returning residents):
- Friday, 9/12
- Orchard Park (family/grad, first-year freshmen, returning residents):
- Tuesday, 9/9
- Residence Halls (first-year freshmen, returning residents):
- Tuesday, 9/16
- Wednesday, 9/17
- Thursday, 9/18
- Notes:
- Volunteer shifts will be a minimum of 2hrs in length – you can sign up for an entire day (multiple shifts) or split up your shifts over multiple days.
- Volunteer Schedule will be emailed and not posted on this webpage
Review
- Please only sign-up for a shift(s) that you are available for – reminder to add any selected shift(s) to your calendar - this form is the official schedule.
- Volunteer shifts will be a minimum of 2hrs in length – you can sign up for an entire day (multiple shifts) or split up your shifts over multiple days.
- Waitlist: should the date/shift you're interested in be full, there is an option to sign-up for a "waitlist" for that date and if a slot becomes available, you will be added in order of the waitlist. If a slot does not become available, you are welcome to email MooveIn@ucdavis.edu to ask about options.
Volunteer Agreement & Acknowledgements
Moove-In Crew volunteers assume the following responsibilities:
- Assist students moving into their residence hall and/or apartment
- Help new students and their guests feel welcome
- Answer questions (but don't guess - direct unknowns to Moove-In Staff in blue shirts/polos)
- Provide directions
- Recycle
Moove-In Crew volunteer Do's and Don'ts:
- Do NOT solicit or recruit members for organizations, events, etc.
- DO wear the Moove-In Crew T-shirt and nametag during all volunteer shifts - required
- DO follow all university and Student Housing and Dining Services policies/procedures
