Unsupported Operating Systems
Unsupported operating systems represent a significant security risk. To mitigate this risk, UC Davis does not allow computers running unsupported operating systems to access campus networks, including Resnet and eduroam, or to log in to campus systems.
Computer users running unsupported operating systems should upgrade their operating system as soon as possible to protect themselves and maintain access to UC Davis networks and applications.
Windows
- Windows 10: Support ended on October 14, 2025.
- Legacy Windows (8/8.1, 7, Vista, XP): All legacy versions are out of support and prohibited from accessing campus networks.
Note on Windows 11: Windows 11 is supported, but individual feature versions (such as 22H2 and earlier) must be kept up to date with current Microsoft releases.
macOS (Apple)
- macOS 12 (Monterey) and earlier: Apple no longer provides security updates for macOS 12 and older versions. Refer to Apple's "Update macOS on Mac" webpage to learn more about keeping your Mac updated.
