Swipe Out Hunger

Swipe Out Hunger provides an opportunity for the UC Davis community to contribute to a fund used by campus and local community charities to purchase food and other essentials to support students and community members most in need.

Funds directly support the following programs:

Charities

Aggie Meal Share

The Aggie Meal Share is a Financial Aid program that provides meals to UC Davis students who qualify for assistance.

The ASUCD Pantry

The ASUCD Pantry provides food and other supplies, such as toiletries, to UC Davis students most in need.

Yolo Food Bank

The Yolo Food Bank provides food to support the community members in Yolo County.

When To Donate

There are two Swipe Out Hunger donation drives each year:

  • In late November, students can donate using Aggie Cash, credit cards and cash at select locations in the residence halls and dining commons
  • In mid-June, at move-out, students can donate using Aggie Cash, credit cards and cash

Even though there are only two donation drives, the fund provides money to the programs throughout the year.

$1,346 was generously donated to Swipe Out Hunger for 2019-2020.

  • Due to COVID-19 and the resulting reduction in housing occupancy, we did not host a spring 2020 Swipe Out Hunger Drive

2018-19

$6,550 was generously donated to Swipe Out Hunger for 2018-2019.

  • $3,634 was donated during the spring 2019 Swipe Out Hunger Drive

2017-18

$7,750 was generously donated to Swipe Out Hunger for 2017-2018.

  • $4,628 was donated during the spring 2018 Swipe Out Hunger Drive

$30,744 was generously donated to Swipe Out Hunger for 2016-2017.
