Housing Eligibility for Incoming Freshmen

Incoming freshmen are eligible to live in the following locations:

  • Residence halls (students must be under 24 years old)
  • Campus apartments, including Solano Park Apartments
  • Cooperatives

Incoming freshmen who choose to live on campus are guaranteed housing in the residence halls for the fall quarter, provided all requirements and deadlines are met. While not required, over 90% of incoming freshman choose to live in the residence halls. Freshmen entering the university during winter or spring quarter may contact Student Housing to request to be placed on a wait list; the housing guarantee does not apply for winter or spring quarter.

Campus apartments are occasionally available to first year students as space allows, but priority is given to students who do not qualify to live in the residence halls. Freshmen may also apply to live in the cooperatives.

Please note: not all housing types/options are available every year; options are determined based upon available space
