Housing Guarantee for Students Who Enter UC Davis in Fall Quarter 2023*

Research shows living on campus is correlated with academic success. All incoming freshman and transfer students entering UC Davis for fall quarter 2023 are guaranteed on-campus housing.

Students must meet eligibility requirements and deadlines to qualify for guaranteed housing. Housing is defined as a single bed, and related shared and personal space in a bedroom or suite, for an individual student. Families are not eligible to live in the residence halls or transfer student apartments; students who wish to live with their families should consider applying to live in on-campus family housing, or housing in the Davis community.

Freshman Students

Housing is guaranteed for one year to all incoming fall-quarter 2023 freshman students.

Freshmen must be under the age of 24 to qualify for guaranteed housing. Freshmen will be housed in on-campus Student Housing residence halls their first year.

Second-Year Housing

Freshmen living in the residence halls during their first year at UC Davis will be offered second-year on-campus housing in either the residence halls or apartments on a first-come, first-eligible basis, depending on availability.

Transfer Students

Housing is guaranteed for two years to all incoming fall-quarter 2023 transfer students.

Transfer students will be housed in on-campus Student Housing apartments their first and second years.

Second-Year Housing

The second year of housing is guaranteed only to those who live in on-campus Student Housing apartments their first year and maintain continuous residence in on-campus housing during the academic year. However, transfer students do not need to commit to the second year of housing to live in on-campus Student Housing apartments their first year.
