Check-in Stations and Check-in Times

What are the Moove-In dates and times?

Moove-In dates and times are by appointment for the first day of the lease, and subject to Orchard Park business hours after that. Students will select their move in appointment through the myHousing Portal. Moove-In will be located in the South Community Center in the 5002 building.

  • Lease Start Date of August 1: Moove-In appointments available August 1 from 9 AM -12 PM
  • Lease Start Date of September 1: Moove-In appointments available September 1 from 9 AM-12 PM
  • Contract Start Date of September 9: Moove-In appointments available from September 9 AM - 5PM

What if I cannot Move-In on this date(s)?

Students who cannot move in during their scheduled appointment need to contact Student Housing and Dining Services by email.

If students need accommodations, cannot move in during their scheduled appointment, or if their check-in day conflicts with the observance of religious holidays, they are encouraged to contact the Student Housing and Dining Services by email.

Students should contact Student Housing and Dining Services if they plan to arrive after the official Moove-In days to schedule a late Moove-In appointment. Keep in mind that the Lease begins on the first day of the lease term, regardless of the Moove-In date. Students should also inform their roommate(s) if they will arrive late.

What do I need for Moove-In?

Please bring your Aggie Card or a photo ID with you to the Moove-In check-in *Reminder: Moove-In Appointments are required.

Where do I get my keys?

  • Students can get their keys at the South Community Center in building 5002 at Orchard Park

Can someone else get my keys?

Only the leaseholder will be issued they keys to their apartment. Photo ID is required.

Will I need a parking permit for Moove-In?

Students may be issued an Unloading Permit pending their Moove-In date. If so, staff will be at the entrance to Orchard Park to issue the permits. Regardless, all students will have 60 minutes to unload in a designated Unloading Zone. Following the 60 minute window students will be expected to move their vehicle to designated long term parking located in the main Orchard Park Parking lot or in the auxiliary lot (refer to map).

 

Room Information

Something is not clean, is broken/does not work and/or is missing from my room. How can I get this taken care of?

Please report all room damages, missing items or unclean areas to staff in the office during or after Moove-In. Maintenance staff will be available to address concerns.

Furniture issues should be reported to Orchard Park staff by submitting a service request or in the Orchard Park office located in the South Community Center.

Every resident must fill out a Room Condition form. The Room Condition form link will be emailed to you prior to check-in and should be completed by October 1.

When can I change rooms?

Room transfers are not available.

What if I want to move my furniture?

Students are welcome to rearrange their furniture to fit their preferences (students should be sure to work with all apartment-mates on furniture arrangements to make sure the arrangement works for everyone). NOTE: Furniture must be returned to its original location before moving out at the end of the year.

 

Electronics/Media

Where can I get an ethernet cable, video coaxial cables, bike locks and other back to school items?

The Pro Shop at the ARC (530-754-4771) and UC Davis Stores at the Memorial Union will be selling these items. A CAT5 cable is recommended for your computer. Many stores in the Davis area also carry these items.

Is cable TV available now? Where can I get a cable for my TV?

Streaming services are provided through the internet provider. You will receive information at Moove-In.

How do I register my computer?

To access the campus network, you must register your computer online at http://computingaccounts.ucdavis.edu.

Is wireless internet available?

Wireless computer connectivity is available. Wireless connectivity can also be found at campus locations such as the Memorial Union, Shields Library and others. Residents can learn more about campus wireless by visiting https://itcatalog.ucdavis.edu/category/internet-network.

 

Apartment Information

Is there an elevator in each building at Orchard Park?

Yes, there is one elevator located in each building. Please note that during Moove-In, elevators will only be available for moving upstairs; please use the stairs to return to the ground floor unless to support mobility access.

When can I start receiving mail?

Students will be receiving a mail code upon check in and can receive mail after they have moved into their space.

Are there laundry facilities?

Yes, laundry rooms are located in each building that does not include in-unit washers and dryers.

 

Housing Payments

How much do I owe and what are the payment dates for my Student Housing and Dining Services account?

September monthly rent payments and Fall Quarter housing payments are due by September 15. August rent payments are due by August 15. You may view your student account online at mybill.ucdavis.edu. If you have questions regarding your housing fees, please contact Student Housing and Dining Services by email.

Where do I pick up the textbooks I ordered?

Students will be emailed when order is ready. Location will be included in email.

Where do I pick up the computer I ordered from the bookstore?

Pick up your computer at the TechHub in the Campus Store (located inside Memorial Union).

How do I register my bike?

All bikes on the UC Davis campus must have a current California bicycle license. Bike licenses are available through Transportation Services.

How can I get the address of a friend who is living on campus?

You will need to ask your friend. Student Housing and Dining Services does not release this information without the consent of the students.

Where can I get a campus map?

Campus maps may be available at the check in/info stations, Area Service Desks, and in the main Student Housing and Dining Services office. The campus map is also available online.

Is the Student Housing and Dining Services office open during Moove-In?

Student Housing and Dining Services has several office locations, with the main office in the Housing Administration Building. Refer here for general information. Note: hours of operation may vary by office due during Moove-In. Contact Student Housing and Dining Services by email, telephone and in person in the office.

Where can I find information about local restaurants and stores?

Visit the Davis Chamber of Commerce website for more information. The DavisWiki is also a popular website for local information.
