Student Staff

We recruit quarterly for the sustainability intern positions, and annually in the spring for student staff positions through Handshake. Check the annual recruitment page for more information.

Sustainability Student Assistants

Student Assistants support professional staff with sustainability initiatives and programs, such as: tracking residence hall waste generation, energy usage, and water usage; developing sustainability marketing and outreach materials; and supporting move-in, move-out, and academic year engagement programs. This is a paid position.

Sustainability Peer Educators

Sustainability Peer Educators facilitate sustainability-focused peer-to-peer engagement for Student Housing residents through tabling events, workshops, and other programming. They are also responsible for maintaining sustainability communications through bulletin boards in the residence halls and dining commons. This is a paid position.

Resident Garden Coordinators

Resident Garden Coordinators oversee planting and garden maintenance at the two SHDS Resident Gardens and facilitate garden volunteer hours and workshops. This is a paid position.

Sustainability Interns

Sustainability interns are volunteers who support sustainability programs and initiatives across the Sustainability Peer Educator, Zero Waste, and Resident Garden teams. Job duties include staffing waste audits, tabling, workshops, and Resident Garden events. This is a volunteer position that is available for transcript notation.
