Residential Dining for Spring Quarter 2020

Our students health and wellness is our top priority. To help our students to remain safe, and following the guidance provided by the CDC and Yolo County Health - to provide residential meal service to our residence hall students while maintaining social distancing - Dining Services is providing the following dining commons program during spring quarter 2020.

Dining Commons

Per the direction from Yolo County and the State of California, to encourage social distancing, seating in the dining commons has been removed and the dining commons have switched to a To-Go service model.

How To-Go Works

To pick up your meal, arrive at the DC entrance and swipe in with your AggieCard, just as before. During peak times, lines will be formed with guests spaced 6 feet apart. Signage is in place to guide you through the dining commons, from platform to platform, where you may select the dishes you wish to eat. Please follow the signs and move forward, following the path through the DC, at all times. In keeping with social distancing, you will exit the DC at a different location than the entrance.

Please check the dining commons menus so you can decide in advance which dishes you would like to pick up. This will help the lines move more quickly, allowing everyone to move through the DC more quickly and minimize the amount of time you spend inside the DC.

To-Go Meals

During each visit to the dining commons (once per each "swipe"), you may select up to two entrees, one side dish, one drink and one dessert for your meal.

Dietary Accommodations

If you are currently receiving dietary accommodations, please contact the dietitian that you have been working with for continuation of your special meals. If you are not currently receiving accommodations but have food allergies or other medically-necessitated concerns, please contact Special Accommodations at specialaccom@ad3.ucdavis.edu.

Meal Plans

We have adjusted the meal plan structure and reducing the fee for the meal plan. Your meal plan has transitioned to a swipe block plan consisting of 200 swipes available to use during spring quarter. Each entry into the dining commons costs one swipe.

The meal plan also includes $200 of Aggie Cash that can be used to buy food, drinks and other goods in our Residential Markets.

Residential Markets

The residential markets will continue to operate with their normal program - please come in for meals, snacks, drinks and more.

Coming soon: We're creating an Aggie Combo Meal program where, instead of visitng the DC for a meal, you can pick up a combo meal at the Residential Markets for a swipe.
